Course Description:
The American Red Cross Waterfront Lifeguarding course prepares lifeguards to work at non-surf, open water environments such as lakes, rivers, and waterparks, as well as traditional pools.

Course Length: 36 hours
Prerequisites:
• 15 Years of Age
• Swim 550 yards without stopping
• Start in the water and swim 20 yards (front crawl or breaststroke), surface dive 12 feet, retrieve a 10 pound object, return to the surface, swim with the object back to the starting point, and exit the water without using a ladder or steps, within 1 minute and 40 seconds.
• Swim 5 yards submerged and retrieve three dive rings placed 5 yards apart in 4 - 12 feet of water, resurface and swim 5 yards to the side of the pool.

Course Details:
Part one of this course is completed in the comfort and convenience of your own home as a self-study module. You will read and study the required course materials and gain the knowledge required to participate in training and complete the required test.
During part two of this course, the instructor(s) will review the academic materials and provide hands-on training and experience in lifeguarding skills, CPR, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a Waterfront Lifeguard certificate, and certification in CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Oxygen administration, and Basic First Aid.
