wsiCourse Description:

This course will prepare you to teach people how to be safe in, on and around water and to teach individuals of different ages and abilities how to swim.

Course Dates:  Schedule

Course Length:  32 Hours

Course Tuition:  $295

Certification Issued:  Water Safety Instructor

Prerequisites:

• Be a minimum of 16 years of age

• Possess or complete a Fundamentals of Instructor Training (FIT) certificate

• Successfully complete the pre-course swimming skills evaluation session

Required pre-course skills:

• Demonstrate the Front Crawl - 25 yards

• Demonstrate the Back Crawl - 25 yards

• Demonstrate the Sidestroke -  25 yards

• Demonstrate the Breaststroke -  25 yards

• Demonstrate the Elementary Backstroke -  25 yards

• Demonstrate the Butterfly Stroke -  15 yards

• Tread water for one minute

• Maintain position on back for one minute in deep water

Note: All of the above skills must be performed to the Red Cross Level 4 degree of proficiency.
