It's never been easier to learn to scuba dive!

The staff at Choo Choo Diving & Aquatic Center make learning to dive as much fun as diving itself! Our award winning home study program and choice of private, or convenient weekend group classes, can accommodate even the busiest schedules!

Step One - Stop by the aquatic center and pick up an SSI Open Water Diver home study kit. Watch the included DVD, read the manual, and complete the study guide questions at the end of each chapter. If you just can't wait to get started, you can read the manual and complete the study guide online.

Step Two - Call the aquatic center at 423.899.1008 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to register for an orientation session. We will review the information you studied in chapters 1 & 2 and provide you with important information about diving equipment. Please discuss diving equipment requirements with a staff member before you purchase any equipment for class. We will also complete class registration paperwork and help you prepare for the next step!

Orientation Session:  No Charge

Step 3 - Diving is serious fun and we use a real world approach when we teach you to dive! Your instructor will review chapters 3 through 6 and introduce diving procedures in the pool. You will have plenty of time to learn your new skills as you practice in the clear, warm, 86º water. Complete Step 3 in a weekend class or on a custom schedule designed just for you.

Class & Pool Weekend Classes:  From $209

Step 4 - To have a great time diving, you need to be totally comfortable and confident with your skills and diving equipment. You will have the opportunity to participate in practice sessions before you progress to the next step. You can participate in as many practice sessions as you like!

All Practice Sessions:  No Charge

Step 5 - The final step in your learn to dive course is to complete certification dives. You will dive on two days with an instructor and make at least 5 scuba dives as you put into practice all of your new skills. You can complete your training locally or join one of our many trips to exciting destinations. We can also arrange for you to complete your training by referral to another instructor almost anywhere in the world!
